My Mission:

To never lose the passion I have for what I do and constantly share that passion with others in a positive, affective way. To make a difference in the lives and businesses of those who trust in me. Always have integrity be the center of my thoughts, deeds, and actions.

Who is ERM:

I have been fly fishing most all of my life. Growing up in the heart of Idaho trout country, the fires were lit and that love of fly fishing has led to a life following the waters of the West in piscatorial pursuits on the fly. I have a particular fondness for native trout of the Pacific Northwest and the Rocky Mountains, but the Pacific Steelhead runs call to me like a siren’s song. I can’t forget about heart-pumping and deep-sounding albacore off the Oregon Coast though. In addition to this, I have been tying my own flies (including more than a few for friends) for the last nine years. As most fly fisherman know this is a rewarding and creative outlet when conditions don’t allow to be on the water.

I grew up in Southeastern Idaho and haved lived in the Washington and Oregon area for the last 13 years. From the get-go I fell in love with the diversity of outdoor offerings – especially the fly fishing. When not chasing fish with a fly, I’m running the ample whitewater, or scuba diving the Puget Sound and Hood Canal. I’m actively involved in the local fishing community with online forums, conservation groups like Trout Unlimited, Wild Stealhead Coalition, and Native Fish Society.  In addition to working with shops and guides, several times a year I teach a class on fishing basics and fly fishing for the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts in my area.

Emerald River Marketing has been a concept for a long time until it became a reality in April of 2010. With more than a decade of professional sales and business management, a degree in Economics, and an MBA with a Marketing specialty, it was time to take the accumulated experience and pursue a passion.

Fly Fishing reps are not uncommon, but good ones are. I bring valuable, innovative products to fly shops. More importantly I work with my Fly Shop Partners to generate interest and loyalty from their anglers through creative, collaborative marketing. This creates excitement around the product and shop, driving traffic and business to the shops. When they win, I win.

Finally, strip it all away and at my core I’m a guy who loves to fish with a fly.
